from the one-sheet:
"Nov 2nd, 2012, DREKKA performed special installation as part of an ongoing series exploring outside the normal performance areas of a house show. Set up in the closet in one of the bedrooms of the house, DREKKA ran microphones and contact mics through the airvents and down a hallways to reach the other performance areas.
Drekka performed for the entire duration of the show; almost three hours total. While other acts were performing, Drekka sat in the closet, continuing to create using the sounds of the other performers and the house as a sound source. Sometimes, offering live deconstructions of the performance taking place rooms away or in the basement... sometimes offering a look into what goes on in the other rooms of the house while most are attentively watching elsewhere.
Between acts, audience members could return to the bedroom, relaxing on the bed and floor, as Drekka re-broadcast portions of the previous act in new, disconnected ways... offering the other performers a chance to hear their own work through the broken machinery of Drekka's soundsystem.
The tape presents DREKKA's live remix of ASSIMILATION's performance that night, as well an ASSIMILATION reworked portion of DREKKA's own performance that night.
The resulting sounds are somewhere between the hushed, cinematic, ambient, ethereal and industrial blind soundtracks of DREKKA and ASSIMILATION's attempts to reconcile multiple spheres of musical interest in one entity.
Equal parts TARKOVSKY, CINDYTALK, COIL, HAFLER TRIO, CYLON, BASINSKI, KOUFAR and ALBERICH"
